In her first Los Angeles exhibition in six years, Jennifer Bolande presents a new body of work titled The Composition of Decomposition. A synthesis of film, photography, and sculpture, the work employs different mediums to tell different aspects of the same story. Using back issues of the New York Times as raw material, the work explores how meaning shifts in the passage from one form to another, from news to history. Currently based in L.A., Bolande came of age in the late seventies as part of New York’s Pictures generation.
