Steve Turner is pleased to present The Working Sky, a solo exhibition by Los Angeles-based Graham Collins featuring new paintings and sculptures made from found paintings and other re-purposed materials.Cut, sewn, collaged and reassembled, Collins’ works are typically abstract, embracing the instability, defects and irregularity in the materials while utilizing improvisation and expressionist gestures within a highly articulated structure of frames, stretchers and supports. **** Steve Turner is pleased to present Return To Sender, a solo exhibition by Los Angeles-based Mitsuko Brooks that will feature collaged, typed or handwritten letters that Brooks sent to friends, colleagues and artist-heroes over the months leading up to the exhibition. The letters are written or typed on repurposed book covers that have a montage of postage stamps, labels and postal marks. Functioning as postcards, they relate to the rich history of mail art, collage and assemblage. Her communications, personal and candid, convey a sober and poignant self-portrait. **** Steve Turner is pleased to present El Bloc Del Narco, a solo exhibition by Medellín-based Camilo Restrepo that will feature new works from two ongoing series, El Bloc Del Narco and A Land Reform. El Bloc Del Narco consists of pairs of drawings that address the effects of language on the Colombian war on drugs.
