Kylin Gallery (8634 Wilshire Blvd, Beverly Hills) is pleased to present “Showroom II: Yoshio Ikezaki Recent Works" - The exhibition will feature work from a new series by gallery exclusive artist Yoshio Ikezaki. Born in Kitakyushu, Japan in 1953, Yoshio intensively studied traditional Japanese papermaking with Shigemi and shigeyuki Matsuo, master papermakers in Yame, Fukuoka, Japan. Learning and experimenting papers for his own painting and sculpture. He creates the paper for his own artworks in order to control the uniform thickness and fiber distribution taking ink’s reaction to the paper into account and creating a ratio of different fiber materials. Yoshio’s work resides in the permanent collections of numerous institutions including Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Los Angeles; Museum of Art and Design, New York; Art Center College of Design, Pasadena; Kitakyushu City Museum of Art, Kitakyushu; Fukuoka Prefectural Art Museum, Fukuoka and more.
