Ends Feb 22, 2020
Stationary Front Curated by Megan Mueller A stationary front is a weather phenomenon referring to the boundary between hot and cold fronts. These hot and cold fronts become a pair of masses, neither of which is strong enough to replace the other resulting in a temporary stand off of forces. The artists of Stationary Front present works on the front and back of paper that incorporate note making, drawing, observation, collecting, journaling, and mark making as a means to process their environments. This exhibition presents artwork where both the front and back of 2 dimensional work have equal importance. Without a definitive front, the work of Stationary Front is meant to be handled, viewed, engaged from different perspectives. Participating artists: Jamie Arenas, Kristin Cammermeyer, Larry Dunbar, Mariah Anne Johnson, Elizabeth Maldari, Daniel Newman, Helen Paik, Marilyn Schmidt Opening reception Saturday, January 11, 7-10 PM On view until February 22nd Gallery hours Saturdays 12-4 PM, beginning January 18th
