Your Gaze Makes Me You would have noticed how they attract and repel each other. You would have become cognizant of your body — the way it feels. Hands, mucus, voice, vibrations, a physical sense with no-body to it. You would have sensed through your body that which has been conceived. You could have stayed longer but time would limit your presence. You would have left the room, your gaze with me. - Ruzanna Hanesyan Spanning mediums and subverting convention, this collection of works by # emerging artists orbits around desire, or more precisely, discomfort. For what is wanting without a little resistance? Some works cause this rupture, some depict it, mediate it, or emerge from it. In between texts, form and/or modes of representation, this exhibition deals in destabilization and double-takes. Engaging with a variety of different senses organs, many works problematize the viewer's encounter — physically, politically and psychologically. Such disruptions, no matter the scale, make space for something new, something ineffable. We intentionally avoid any attempt to name such a place because that state of not knowing is valuable - it is an asset to be savored and cherished, it is a gift. While the world pushes for meaning and demands solutions, this exhibition provides an opportunity to take a walk in an off-kilter landscape, to confront and be confronted. ​Kylin Gallery in collaboration with the Fine Art Department at ArtCenter College of Design presents "Your Gaze Makes Me".
