Amplifier will be Lisa Williamson's first solo exhibition at Tanya Bonakdar Gallery. Williamson will present new wall-based works, “compressions” of landscape and portraiture, of architecture and time. With a keen sensitivity towards proportion and scale, Williamson’s works convey space as both intimate and concretized; associative, optical, and resonant. Regarding precision as an expressive gesture and calibration as a mode of production, the artist’s expansive approach to color and meticulous attention to surface continue to soften the line between painting and sculpture, language and object.
