Shot throughout the Sierra Norte of Oaxaca in 2019, "Queremos Tierra" is a visual investigation on the effects of industrialization on our corporeal movement. Manny Mireles' work is created with an indigenous consciousness and futurist framework as a direct response to the alarming threat of global climate change and the intricate yet intimate interspecies relationships that have flourished out of a necessity to protect native territories. Manny Mireles is an artist living in Los Angeles, Oaxacalifornia. Mireles’ work questions ideas of ritual, site-specificity, and community. They completed studies at Otis College of Art and Design, and California College of the Arts. "Queremos Tierra" film length is 45 min, and has limited capacity viewing of 10 attendees each day.
