Multiples

Multiples builds meaning from the multiple; from iterative or serial works, the use of standardized prefabricated materials, to the accumulation of images. As Hannah Sage Kay writes in Fool Me Twice, the exhibition investigates, “what makes an encounter between object and viewer sincere? Do objects embody their functions regardless of time, place, and context?” In an effort to make citable organizational structures and units of construction in the built environment, these works challenge expectations of uniformity and predictability. Multiples presents the work of Nathan Gulick, Colleen Hargaden, Seth Lower, Megan Mueller, Samuel Scharf, Noah Spindler, Katie Thoma, and Katya Usvitsky, with a text by Hannah Sage Kay. The exhibition opens on July 10th and runs through September 11th.
