Cirrus Gallery & Cirrus Editions, Ltd. is pleased to present sub-shapes, a group exhibition that deconstructs various definitions of figuration. The exhibition is the second in a series of shows that elaborate on the concept of "figures" in the 21st century. In this iteration, sub-shapes introduces five themes––geometry, coding, narrative, movement and pattern––that will be elaborated on in theme-specific exhibitions in the future. The themes here are featured across the works of the 15 artists: Farah Atassi, Ashwini Bhat, Karl Benjamin, Guy de Cointet, Jedd Garrett, Jill Giegerich, Alex Heilbron, Charles Christopher Hill, Jim Isermann, Casey Kauffmann, John Mason, Simphiwe Ndzube, Robbie Simon, Leon Polk Smith.
