Making his Los Angeles debut on October 15, 2021 Canadian photographer Peter Thomson’s ‘Water and Ice’ illuminates the often-hidden beauty that emerges within the fluctuations between natural states. Ranging from the simple to the sublime, Thomson’s photographs capture vignettes constructed by nature, specifically Canadian winters. Using high-fidelity cameras akin to microscopes used in a laboratory, the artist isolates delicate patterns, or “ice jewelry,” a term coined to describe the convergence of science and art. On view through October 29, the gallery will host an opening reception with the artist on Friday, October 15 from 7 p.m.–9 p.m. at 1137 Westwood Boulevard, Westwood, CA 90024.
