There are moments, silent moments that somehow permeate our very own human fabric to finally reach our soul. Moments spent alone or with someone, contemplating a landscape or an animal, or just moments in which we fall into the deepest introspection till reaching the farthest corners of being. A smile, a tear, a blank face, something. Something that stirs in us the matrix of a future memory or the blurry image of a remembered past. That’s where Andrea Jatar takes us through her paintings. They might be hers, yet the emotions are universal. They transcend the canvas and reach us as we contemplate the images and feel happiness or sadness or empathy or nostalgia. Her work is that of an alchemist because she uses her prowess to shake us from our mundane existence, as she sends us into an extraordinary moment or memory. She makes us feel grateful for what we experience in our everyday life, and for that we’re indebted to the artist. To enter her work is to sip from Life itself. by Maria A. Schneider - Art Curator
