Join us at Lois Lambert Gallery as we welcome in the works of two wonderful artist: Peter Wallis and Joanne Jaffe. It'll be a night of laughter and art. We'll be serving complementary refreshments and playing soul warming tunes all night! Peter Wallis is an interdisciplinary artist based out of Santa Monica, CA. He has worked with students throughout the country, teaching visual arts at independent schools and nonprofit arts organizations. He sees visual arts and arts education as catalysts for meaningful change in the world. In 2006, Wallis received his BFA in Illustration with a double minor in Art History and Drawing from the Maine College of Art in Portland, ME. Working at the Center for Cartoon Studies in Vermont, he cultivated a strong connection to graphic novels and the strengths they have as teaching tools. Wallis earned his MFA from Goddard College in 2010, and Peace Studies he was also an artist in residence in the Montserrat Mountains of Catalonia, Spain in 2009. Joanne Jaffe has shown at the American Museum of Ceramic Art (AMOCA), the Craft and Folk Art Museum, and at the Beatrice Wood Center for the Arts in Ojai, as well as at art galleries around California. Her work has been published in the Los Angeles Times Magazine and AmericanStyle Magazine, and has been highlighted in Lark Books’ The Best of 500 Ceramics: Celebrating a Decade in Clay and 500 Vases: Contemporary Explorations of a Timeless Form.
