Dec 02, 4 PM - 7 PM — ends Dec 30, 2017
Panel Discussion: “Fake News, Real News and Trust in Journalism” 4-4:30 p.m. Saturday Dec. 2 2017.The panel will be led by Emily Goulding, who consults for the Institute for Nonprofit News, and includes Sara Catania, who recently launched JTrust, a newsletter that collects and curates the latest efforts to restore the public trust in journalism, and Robert Hernandez, a USC Annenberg professor whose focus is exploring and developing the intersection of technology and journalism.More about the show: The exhibition includes work by journalists and by artists commenting on the impact of news today. The show investigates the relationship between art, journalism, and their ties to modern society. Art and journalism are familiar filters used to comprehend our state of being. What happens when you put the lens of art, fraught with emotionality and personal perceptions, next to the factual lens of journalism? Does it provide a more comprehensive view of the current state of affairs, or is it just a more beautiful form of static?
