My job is to tell the story. Either the one I’m dreading to tell or one that is too familiar. What came out is this longing to help and be helped. We need each other. If it’s crossing borders, or boundaries we never thought we could get through, or it’s someone just keeping the light on for you. There are always three stories to a painting. The story you want people to see, the story you hide to reveal at a later time, and the real story being the truth. Earthlings get stronger through struggle. It’s how we’ve managed to not die out. Portraits of desires and fears laced with love hold absurd familiarities that I sometimes find in a fever, wish or a dream.
