For Mast on Fig, Paul Pescador will explore the role of tourism as a citizen of the United States to understand other parts of the world and the cultural barriers that are reduced and reinforced through the tourist culture. In his performance, una vez más en inglés... / once more in spanish..., he is interested in the translation of languages. As a native Spanish speaker who no longer understands the language, Pescador uses costumes and objects to highlight cultural stereotypes and misunderstandings. Paul Pescador is an artist, filmmaker, performer and writer who discusses social interactions and intimacy in regards to his own personal identity and history. He graduated with a Master of Arts (MFA) from the University of California, Irvine and a BA from the University of Southern California.
