Please welcome our first artist-in-residence, Alisha Sofia. Born in 1987 in Los Angeles, Sofia has had a lifelong fascination with the female form as a creator of visual identity. Her delicate paintings often portray women in nature, partially or completely nude, accompanied by animals or ritually symbolic food. Sofia's confidently posed nudes convey power and strength, demanding engagement and closer examination from the viewer. Sofia attended the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, completing her degree at Art Center College of Design in 2009. She currently lives and works in Los Angeles.
