ANNOUNCING the fourth iteration of MAIDEN LA, an inclusive network of art related happenings throughout Los Angeles County taking place September 1-20. Despite the pandemic, over 75 Los Angeles artists, collectives, curators, and organizations have delivered an exciting array of projects both live and online, interactive and socially distanced.

This year’s survey boasts an impressive and thoughtful lineup utilizing parks, garages, front lawns, fences, rivers, and virtual spaces. There are scavenger hunts, window installations, drive-through sculpture parks and drive-by projections from the beach all the way to the Antelope Valley. Clearly undaunted by the challenge of presenting work while abiding by Covid-19 guidelines, the Los Angeles art community continues to thrive and push and forge ahead. For the complete calendar of events visit the Maiden LA website where you can search for projects based on neighborhood, venue information or project type. There is also a comprehensive map and downloadable PDF. All listings will also be available on the Special Events section of What’s On Los Angeles, a mobile-friendly website and app developed by Los Angeles artists Jody Zellen and Brian C. Moss.

Additionally, we are excited to announce that Lawn Ornaments in My Back Yard (LOIMBY), a Maiden LA project postponed from the spring due to the pandemic, will now be part of this September’s lineup. Staying true to Maiden LA’s mission of inclusivity, LOIMBY is the result of an open call inviting any and all Los Angeles artists to submit a lawn ornament of their own creation and will include original lawn ornaments by 48 participating artists and collectives at the following events:

September 5, 2020 from 8pm - 10pm: High Beams, a one night only drive-through parking lot show on on the rooftop of 401 E. 12th St., adjacent to and hosted by the Bendix Building Galleries

September 19 and 20, 2020: Other Places art fair (OPaf), an alternative art fair for unconventional art initiatives, launching online this year and running through October 31.
