The Inconstant World | Artist Talk with Liz Deschenes, David Horvitz, B. Ingrid Olson

1717 East 7th Street, Los Angeles, CA
Mar 25, 5 PM - 6 PM — ends May 30, 2021
The Inconstant World features nine international artists whose work examines the relationship between perception and abstraction, focusing on visibility and illegibility as artistic strategies. With the body, language, and the experience of time as points of departure, the exhibition engages the limitations of representation and images as sites of interpretation. Each artist uses a different mode of abstraction; works in the exhibition consider the incomplete image, or attempt to represent that which cannot be captured or clearly articulated. The result complicates the viewing process, and encourages a closer look to unpack the work’s meaning.

Participating artists:
Kelly Akashi, Liz Deschenes, David Horvitz, Hanna Hur, Steffani Jemison, K.R.M. Mooney, Sandra Mujinga, B. Ingrid Olson, and Pamela Rosenkranz.

Join us for an artist talk with The Inconstant World artists Liz Deschenes, David Horvitz, and B. Ingrid Olson whose work addresses concepts in photography, image making, and perception. The discussion will be moderated by Jamillah James, ICA LA Senior Curator.

This event will be a Zoom webinar. Pre-registration is required.
