AU PAIR is pleased to present Hard Fog, a collaborative exhibition by Stephen Zerbe and Jason Burgess. In sculpture, relief and painting, they examine the themes of nature, form, disorientation and expectations of longevity. Laid out in the timeless symmetry of a classical garden, a red painting with a red rose, a classic memento mori, overlooks a headstone-like frame, which invites us to "just add water," suggesting the ease with which we are swayed by commodified ideals, while an aluminum reflecting pool stretching out before it highlights our eventual mortality and desire for remembrance.
