The Artists' Political Action Network (APAN) August Meeting will have a special focus on Immigrant Rights. Featured speakers are law professor Kathleen Kim and National Immigration Detention Hotline coordinator Cynthia Galaz. Our speakers will discuss how immigration is framed in the Constitution and what legislative measures are underway to protect the rights of immigrants in California. Following the talk, postcard writing stations will be set up so you can encourage your representatives to pass legislation like SB54 (Sanctuary Bill) and the Dignity Not Detention Act. The current exhibitions at LACE will be on view before and after our presentation and refreshments will be served.
