The Underground Museum launches its 2018 programs with Holding Court: Elizabeth Alexander and Robin Coste Lewis. The list of accolades held by these two brilliant women includes a National Book Award, Pulitzer nominations, professorships at Yale, Columbia, Harvard, USC, and a reading for President Obama’s first inauguration. Elizabeth Alexander was recently appointed the President of the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation. Robin Coste Lewis is the Poet Laureate of Los Angeles. Their Holding Court session will elucidate on the politics in art, the art in activism, and the power of the word. Admission always free.
