900 Exposition Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90007
Sunday, May 6 at 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM
Ends May 7, 2018
In collaboration with the United State of Women Summit, the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County (NHMLA) will host a free* screening of the documentary DOLORES on Sunday, May 6, 2018. Following the screening, there will be a special Q&A opportunity with Dolores Huerta and Barbara Carrasco, the artist of L.A. History: A Mexican Perspective, the mural featured in NHMLA’s exhibition, Sin Censura: A Mural Remembers L.A. Dolores Huerta is among the most important, yet least known, activists in American history. An equal partner in co-founding the first farm workers unions with Cesar Chavez, her enormous contributions have gone largely unrecognized. Huerta tirelessly led the fight for racial and labor justice alongside Chavez, becoming one of the most defiant feminists of the twentieth century–and she continues the fight to this day, at 88. *This event is FREE with RSVP, parking is $12. Enjoy food trucks and a cash bar during the event.
