George Billis Gallery is pleased to present the gallery’s first solo exhibition of photographs by Steven Burton. The exhibition, Skin Deep: Looking Beyond the Tattoos, features the works from the artist’s recent project, Skin Deep, and continues through June 23rd.Skin deep is a portrait series that seeks to understand the impacts tattoos have on former gang members and people trying to escape the gang life. How we as a society judge ex-gang members with tattoos and ultimately how they judge themselves.
