Join us for an in-gallery discussion with the Hungarian avant-garde photographer, poet, and filmmaker János Vető, who will speak about his collaboration with the Hungarian performance artist Tibor Hajas. A film of their legendary final performance, Vigil (May 18, 1980), appears in the exhibition "Promote, Tolerate, Ban: Art and Culture in Cold War Hungary," on view at the museum.This discussion is co-sponsored by the Photographic Arts Council (PAC), coinciding with the exhibition "Promote, Tolerate, Ban: Art and Culture in Cold War Hungary," a collaboration with the Getty Research Institute that is on view at the Wende Museum of the Cold War in Culver City from May 20 to August 26, 2018.
