Ends Jan 1, 1970
The premiere of Paul Pescador's new film The PYT, which will screen on Saturday October 27th at 7pm, 8pm, and 9pm in the new Pit Presents gallery. For The PYT, Pescador utilized the exhibition space of the Pit gallery as a film set for the reproduction of the 1981 horror film "The Pit". The original Canadian cult film tells the story of Jaime a 12 year-old kid who alongside his evil teddy bear enacts revenge upon the town by feeding its citizens to monsters that live within a pit hidden deep in the woods. In Pescador's reinterpretation colorful studio materials and puppets become stand-ins for characters and sets. The PYT is a queer reconsidering in order to understand the awkwardness, horror and trauma of puberty.
