Tiger Strikes Asteroid LA is pleased to present Filtered Projections, a site-specific dance piece featuring the work of Katherine Cowgill and Ida Islas and produced by Kate Highstrete. Filtered Projections is a twelve-minute dance piece choreographed by Katherine Cowgill, set against projections and with sound design by Los Angeles artist Ida Islas. Filtered Projections explores our relationships when experienced through the filters we use to craft our identities. Four dancers moving together and in partnership look for truth in the way they relate to each other and to themselves. Katherine Cowgill danced with Los Angeles Ballet for 5 years, while also creating works for the company. She choreographs concert dance as well as site-specific works in alternative spaces. Her work focuses on the emotional experience of herself and the artists she collaborates with. Ida Islas comes from nowhere but goes everywhere. You can call her at 1 (800) 644-1403. She produces collaborative, dance performances in approachable venues to bring dance and non-dance audiences together.
