Lizzi Bougatsos and Kim Gordon perform sonic improvisation to the projections of artist Penny Slinger’s early experimental silent films from 1969, shorts dealing with the unconscious, the surreal, the metaphysical, and the distinctly feminine. Lizzi Bougatsos is a visual and performance artist and musician (Gang Gang Dance, I.U.D.) living in New York City. Kim Gordon is a visual artist and musician (Sonic Youth, Body/Head) living in Los Angeles. In conjunction with the screening of the documentary film "Penny Slinger: Out of the Shadows," the untold story of Surrealist artist Penny Slinger and the traumatic events that led to the creation of her renowned 1977 photo-romance, “An Exorcism.”
