LA Painting is a celebration of material, mark-making, and the human experience, boasting exhibitions curated by writer Cooper Johnson in the Main Gallery, an immersive collaboration between painter Kaye Freeman and performance artist Amy Kaps in the East Gallery, and 49 artists from the Circle of Truth project, created by Shane Guffogg and Laura Hipke, in the South Gallery. Three-dimensional kaleidoscopic works by David Allan Peters are on display, as well as a site-specific installation by Erika Lizée that spans the three floors of the MOAH lobby atrium. Highlights from MOAH’s permanent collection are also featured throughout the museum.
