Join Art + Practice for a talk with Los Angeles-based artist Luis Flores on Thursday, November 14, 2019 at 7pm. At A+P, Flores (b. 1985) will discuss his work in textile-based sculpture, installation, video performance, painting, and drawing–which bring to light topics surrounding gender and masculinity that are often ignored and blindly accepted. Flores will also explore his works’ relationship to ideas of the unconscious and automatic responses to societal expectations as well as the ways in which beliefs about situations or tasks shape the way we perceive ourselves and art.
