A LIBRARY FOR LITA is a community effort to help the world-renowned artist Lita Albuquerque rebuild after the unfathomable loss of her Malibu home, studio, archive, and library in the Woolsey Fire. Although her loss is immeasurable and countless items are irreplaceable–from family photographs and rare pigments used in her art, to hundreds of journals that were on their way to the Smithsonian–A LIBRARY FOR LITA is a simple yet tangible attempt to honor the beauty, inspiration, and joy this artist has shared through her art and ideas, by giving back to her in the form of books.
For A LIBRARY FOR LITA, Albuquerque has created a list of her 100 most treasured and essential titles related to art, science, metaphysics, spirituality, and the cosmos. Through the PRS e-commerce site, friends and fans from all over the world can purchase select books to donate, virtually, to her library.
