AGCC invites the community to Open Studios Day for a free, family-friendly event to tour artist studios, engage with live demonstrations and performances, view contemporary art, and support local artists by purchasing original works of art. Over 50 Angels Gate Studio Artists will open their doors to the community for Open Studios Day on Saturday, December 7th from noon to 4pm. Gallery: AGCC is putting a spotlight on San Pedro artists in our current exhibition Local Notions, juried by Kristina Newhouse. The exhibition highlights local artists with 60 original works of art in a vast range of mediums. AGCC Studio Artist Stuart Hamilton will be showing new works of art in the Studio Sessions gallery space in conjunction with Local Notions. Exhibited art works can be purchased supporting both the artists and AGCC. Demonstrations by AGCC community classes will take place throughout the day, including live printmaking, dance performances by students of Excel Dance and Performing Arts Artist-Teacher Shanta Robinson, the Polynesian Hula class among others. AGCC hosts one of the largest studio artist programs in the region with a diverse range of artistic disciplines including ceramics, photography, printmaking, writing, sculpture, videography, music, dance and painting.
