To close out the year in a spirit of collaboration, SoLA Contemporary will feature artwork by individuals in its Creative Practice membership program. Creative Practice is a critique program that is collaborative and free style in nature, consisting of approximately 40 emerging and established artists who work with and learn from each other for one year, culminating in a final group show. Exclusive to SoLA, Creative Practice was developed by executive director Peggy Sivert who was inspired to offer artists an opportunity to meet up with fellow artists and receive honest and constructive feedback while also building meaningful relationships with them. “Experimental I and II are not your typical art shows,” said Sivert. “It’s not so much about the artwork as it is about appreciating human connections and celebrating the personal growth and creativity because of them."
