Following an illustrious career in the music business Macey Lipman began painting full time – it has been his passion since childhood, when he started his practice. With opening receptions on January 25 and January 26, Lipman will introduce his new body of work, “The Summit Series,” which depicts the very summits of mountains in North and South America. The series was inspired by his daughter, who is an avid mountain climber; most recently, she scaled Mt. Everest. While his images are reality based, there is a whimsical, sometimes dreamlike quality to them, with touches of pointillism and expressionism. There will also be works from Macey's previous series on display, including images of Cuba, Italy, and California wine country. His work has been shown nationally and internationally, most recently with exhibitions in New York City and Florence, Italy in 2018.
