Presented in conjunction with Julie Mehretu—a mid-career survey of the artist’s work that unites nearly 40 works on paper with 35 paintings dating from 1996 to the present—hear dynamic presenters discuss the work from feminist perspectives, in relation to feminist history, theory, practices, and possibilities. Participants include Sadie Barnette, artist; Erin Christovale, Associate Curator, Hammer Museum; Cecilia Fajardo-Hill, independent curator, art historian, and visiting lecturer at Princeton University; and Essence Harden, independent curator. Moderated by Rujeko Hockley, co-curator of Julie Mehretu and Assistant Curator at the Whitney Museum of American Art.
