T A I L G A T E Closing reception and performance Saturday, February 29th, 7-9 pm Please join us for a closing reception for our 2020 open call show, T A I L G A T E, and a performance by artist Ricky Amadour. Recurring performances at fifteen minute intervals. Ricky Amadour began creating ethereal headdresses after researching his multi-layered Colombian ancestry. While historical forms of headwear were used to distinguish and divide, Amadour’s headdresses are signifiers of inclusivity. They facilitate discussion about identity without imposing an agenda. Amadour’s performances investigate desire and the expression of gender identification, as well as the abstract power structures that organize society, and construct methods of human categorization.
