Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater: Revelations Glorya Kaufman Presents Dance at The Music Center collaborates with beloved dance company Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater to bring a special virtual presentation of the company’s seminal masterpiece, Revelations. This event includes an introduction by native Angeleno and Music Center Spotlight Finalist Matthew Rushing, who is associate artistic director for the Ailey company, along with Ailey dancers performing the powerful Revelations, with the emotional “I Been ‘Buked,” the rousing “Wade in the Water” and the triumphant finale “Rocka My Soul in the Bosom of Abraham.” Viewers will have the opportunity to learn some of the choreography of one of the most widely-seen modern dance works as dancer and choreographer Hope Boykin breaks down the moves in an upbeat, highly accessible manner.
