In response to Maiden LA’s call, each member of Museum Adjacent has documented their artwork temporarily installed outside of and adjacent to museum institutions. This project is an exercise in determining the role of the under-recognized artist within the Los Angeles art world. By placing their work outside of the most visually recognized emblems of the Los Angeles art scene, the collective makes a place for themselves within the greater conversation; it allows the artists' agency to determine their place within a system that can so often deny inclusion.
