The Los Angeles-based art organization HK Creative Studio is pleased to announce "Realism vs. Surrealism," an exhibition that shows the works of emerging Korean-based artists from South Korea at Gallery Western from March 08 to March 15 (For the public: March 09-March 13 ; 1-6pm).
Participating Artists are See Hyun, Junha Kim, Dahwa, Nani, Yeon Hwa Sung, Kevin H. Jang, Lily Hyun, Sooshick, and
H.RED.
The theme of Realism v Surrealism is to show how realistic and surrealist works contrast against each other, namely, realistic and surrealist works crash against each other. It presents art in a variety of mediums that express realistically what it wants to mean beyond traditional art, unconscious desire, and chaos and absurdity beyond reality.
Through this exhibition, viewers should experience a dichotomy while walking somewhere between the realistic imagination that pursues perfection and the unrealistic imagination that fulfills all ideal dreams. viewers will also have the courage to jump back into the reality of the world after viewing the exhibition.
Wearing a mask is required for preventing the spread of Covid-19 and safe viewing. In addition, visitors watch the exhibition at a distance of 6 feet and follow California’s Covid-19 protocol.
Han Na Hong, the director of HK Creative Studio said, "Starting with the ‘Realism v Surealism’exhibition, the exhibition will continue to introduce Korean contemporary arts and artists to the U.S. public through the collaboration series of Korean-based artists.”
