Artist Lauren Kasmer will present a series of unscripted live streaming performances and film screenings as part of her virtual solo show “MOMENTA” on May 1 and 2. Live performances include readings, dance, movement, tai chi, a story time, guided meditation, and spontaneous interstitial episodes – Kasmer’s films will also be looped onscreen An exhibition in five parts, Momenta comprises: Mount, a video; Wardrobe, photographically printed wearables; Equipoise, an installation with activation; Collaboration at a Distance, photography; and Flourish from Fire, documentary images A companion book will be released in June 2021 --- Multi-disciplinary artist and fine art photographer Lauren Kasmer’s “Momenta” is an online solo exhibition presented by El Camino College Art Gallery and curated by Susanna Meiers – it was recently extended through May 9, 2021. Following that date, the exhibition will continue to be accessible on Kasmer’s custom website for the project, https://www.laurenkasmersmomenta.com/, where the entire show may be viewed. --- Saturday, May 1: 9:50 am: Space opening 10 am: T'ai Chi by Deirdre Woode of Mani d'Oro 12 pm: Drumming, guided meditation and extended rhythm experience with Rob Klonel 2 pm: Shana Nys Dambrot reads from her book, Zen Psychosis, a work of experimental fiction: the attempt to construct a personal memoir culled not from diaries but dreams. 4 pm: Mixed media by Matthew Rich and Miriha Austin 5 pm: Space closing Sunday, May 2: 9:50 am: Space opening 10 am: Zumba by Monthira Soonthorsarathool 12 pm: Clayton Bonura presents his Ekphrastic Work 2 pm: Douglas Wilcox presents Table Manners - a brief reading on customs and etiquette while visually exploring the tools and implements of eating. 4 pm: Story time with Satoe Fukushima as she reads to Misato and Chitose Iida. 5 pm: Space closing
