Join Angels Gate Cultural Center (AGCC) on zoom for "Gallery Conversations: Multiples" featuring the artists and curators in a live interactive discussion on Thursday August 12, from 7 - 8:30pm PST.
Currently on view in the AGCC gallery, Multiples shares a strategy of building meaning from the multiple, as found in iterative series, repetition of mass-produced objects and images in new and site-responsive works.
Artist-curators Nathan Gulick, Megan Mueller and Samuel Scharf will lead the conversation about the curatorial vision and the themes behind Multiples. As Hannah Sage Kay writes in Fool Me Twice, the exhibition investigates, “What makes an encounter between object and viewer sincere? Do objects embody their functions regardless of time, place, and context?”
Multiples includes the work of Nathan Gulick, Colleen Hargaden, Seth Lower, Megan Mueller, Samuel Scharf, Noah Spindler, Katie Thoma, and Katya Usvitsky, and Hannah Sage Kay, which will be included in the interactive discussion, with art visuals featured in a virtual tour of the exhibition.
