Tuesday, September 7 – Thursday, October 7, 2021 Los Angeles Center of Photography 5566 W. Washington Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90016 The Los Angeles Center of Photography (LACP) is honored to reopen our gallery to the public with an exhibition of Mona Kuhn’s large scale photographs. Mona Kuhn is the honoree of the 2021 Stieglitz Award, which will be presented to her by LACMA’s Curator of Photography Rebecca Morse on October 2nd during our Annual Fundraising Gala. Established in 2019, this award was created to honor an extremely accomplished member of the photographic community – someone who continually gives back to the community, to emerging photographers, to students, and to the LACP. Mona Kuhn is best known for her large-scale photographs of the human form. She is considered a leading artist in the world of figurative discourse. An underlaying current among Kuhn’s works is her reflection on humanity’s longing for spiritual connection and solidarity. Also on view are a selection of photographs which will be auctioned via ARTSY starting September 20th. These include works by Douglas Kirkland, Herb Ritts, Elinor Carucci, Jeff Bridges and many more.
