On Sunday December 12, 2021, 4pm to 6pm, Matter Studio Gallery will be hosting artist Karla Carranza for her solo exhibition DECONSTRUCTING MATTER’s Closing Reception. Carranza works in layers, texture, mixed media, mark-making, and uses the canvas to re-engage with and explore the human condition and transcendental energy. She uses both representational and abstract images to capture the process of deconstructing and reconstructing experiences. Karla Carranza is inspired by honesty, vulnerability, perseverance and love. Matter Studio Gallery was founded by Karla Funderburk to offer an exhibition space in the heart of Los Angeles. It provides a vital and dynamic space for local artists to share their work and reach new audiences. The gallery showcases a broad range of art including installation, performance and mixed media.
