Tanya Bonakdar Gallery is pleased to announce a new series of bronze sculptures by Los Angeles-based artist Charles Long. The exhibition, titled Askesis, will be on view in the gallery’s Project Room space by appointment through April 23, 2022. Charles Long’s work explores the possibilities of sculpture through a rich vocabulary of materials, colors, images, and shapes. Incorporating references to art history, popular culture, nature, and his own experiences, Long’s work embraces modernist convention as a means of connecting inner and outer realities, forming pathways between one’s mental and bodily experiences and the surrounding environment.
