Other Places art fair (OPaf) is returning to Angels Gate Cultural Center (AGCC) on September 17th and 18th, 2022, from 12 PM-6 PM on both days. OPaf will be taking place in the Battery Leary-Merriam at Angels Gate Cultural Center, 3601 S Gaffey St, San Pedro, CA.
OPaf 5 celebrates five years of presenting hard-to-define contemporary art project spaces and artist projects. As an added, special feature, this year’s OPaf 5 presents Kite Show with kites available for visitors to fly. OPaf 5 features over thirty contemporary art project spaces and independent artist projects from California and beyond in an immersive, fully outdoor setting. The participants include

In addition to the main fair, OPaf 5 will feature Kite Show, co-organized by A History of Frogs and Harborview and Pole, featuring over twenty artist designed kites available for attendees to fly on OPaf’s scenic overlook. Featured artists include B. Wurtz, Misa Chhan, Ellen Schafer, Jim Isermann and T.S. Leonard, Elaine Stocki, Merideth Hillbrand, Amy Bernstein, Misa Chhan, Shawn Creeden, Krysten Cunningham, Perry Doane, Carley Feeney, Elijah Ford, Luke Forsyth, Lukas Geronimas and Merideth Hillbrand.
This year’s OPaf will also feature a stage organized by KCHUNG Radio, with live performances and broadcasts throughout the weekend concluding with a performance by Bitter Party on Sunday evening. Pizza will be available for sale both days by “scrappy pizza insurgency” pop-up Eddie’s Pizza Napoletana. Admission to OPaf is a $5 donation and or free for students. The Kite Show is $5 per flight and the proceeds from Kite Show will fund the OPaf Prize™, awarded (randomly) to the best booth at OPaf. Support for Opaf is provided by Angels Gate Cultural Center and
