In this month’s workshop, get hands-on with educators from the Garden School Foundation for a deep dive into the world of compost. This November, explore various methods of composting including, vermicomposting, bokashi, and the bin system. Take a closer look at the macro and microorganisms that are greatly responsible for the decomposition process. During the workshop, participants will make compost screen prints and compost in a bottle to take home.
The Garden School Foundation provides garden-based education to children at eight Title 1 elementary schools across Los Angeles. They take a holistic approach to teaching, gardening, cooking and environmental sustainability through an in-depth Seed to Table and Cafeteria to Compost programs along with regular Community Garden Days and school- based free Farmers Markets.
