Join us this Friday for a closing reception and performance piece, created on-site by dancers Cami Arboles, Anne Arellano, Devon Cherry and Adeola Heyman for Avery Wheless’ exhibition “So does everybody else” at Seasons LA, which synthesizes pole dance, acrobatics, contortion, and hand balancing to reimagine and push the boundaries of the female form in movement.
Each painted figure is on stage, ready, holding space for the viewer in their own performance. "We wanted to create a dialogue between paint and flesh by bringing moving, breathing bodies to interact with the work—creating a piece where a moment frozen in time joins the present through movement."
This piece questions: What does it mean to want more for yourself? What does it mean to test the boundaries of what you think is possible for yourself to embody?
When we blur the lines between work and play, between reality and dreams, between past and present moments, we give ourselves grace to fill a new shape, a new form of being.
