On his new paintings, in Flutterluster:
"This series of paintings began with a line. A line I've drawn in pencil on scraps of paper, painted on canvases, and sprayed on the sides of buildings, for fifty years. It's been a constant in my life, this line. It’s been telling me a story, my story, all this time but it wasn't until two years ago that I listened. That I heard the line. That I legitimized it and used it as the basis, the point of departure, visually, to tell the story it’s been demanding. These paintings are the result of me, finally listening to what this fluttering line had been telling me all along.” -Toby Huss
