The New Arts Foundation is pleased to present ‘moving images are still images’, an experimental film screening and performance platform. ‘moving images are still images’ plays with dynamism in negative space and lingers in the residue of inanimacy. The program burrows through our current cultural and artistic landscape to link makers who play in absence to open urgent channels of poetry, sincerity, and romance. Artists include: Yanbin Zhao, Joseph Wilcox, Terry Silvester, Sydney Shavers, Jillian Mayer, Max Harper, Vardit Goldner, David Finkelstein, Laurence Favre, Mikaela Elson, Fìa Benitez, and Pierre Yves Clouin. The program is curated by Greg Jenkins. ‘moving images are still images’ takes place on Saturday, July 29th at 7p at Heavy Manners in Echo Park, the former site of the historic Machine Project (1200 N Alvarado St, Los Angeles, CA 90026).
