Olfactory artists Brian Goeltzenleuchter and Sean Francis Conway pay tribute to perfumer Septimus Piesse's Odophone. This performance challenges current perceptions of how we experience smell and sound. Experience an ambient soundscape of Minimalist structures such as consonant harmony, drones and polyrhythms as corresponding scent notes are released in time. Both the music and scents are derived from 19th century French perfumer Septimus Piesse’s ‘Odophone,’ a literal scale of smells corresponding to different pitches in Western musical notation.
