This is an experimental exhibition organized by the Y Manifesto, simultaneously
opening in London and Los Angeles. It is a cross-regional exhibition with a common theme.
Between the serene walls of the MP Gallery in London and the Gong Gallery in Los Angeles, we invite you to immerse yourself in an exhibition that transcends
geographical boundaries. This exhibition explores human history, philosophical
contemplations, and ecological ethics. The theme, "TWHAWHIF - The world hath aged, whilst humanity is fledgling," aims to delve into an ancient and complex proposition: whether history is always destined to repeat itself.
"The world has weathered the ravages of time, while humanity is still in its infancy" not only reflects the length of history but also prompts profound reflections on human behavior and decision-making. Recent global controversies surrounding certain material emissions into the oceans provide a thought-provoking backdrop. Concerning the cyclical nature of history: Nietzsche's Eternal Recurrence (Friedrich Nietzsche): Nietzsche proposed the concept of the "eternal recurrence," suggesting that events in history would repeat themselves over and over again (found in "Thus Spoke Zarathustra"). This book contains some of his most important thoughts and viewpoints. He believed that the entire universe and all things would infinitely repeat, including human life and every subtle event. Hegel's Dialectical Method of History (Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel): Hegel's philosophical view of history sees it as a dialectical process, asserting that history is in constant repetition but in different ways.
